CreOsso, LLC was established to develop and commercialize products that enhance the body’s own capacity for bone healing/regeneration. Drs. Joseph Benevenia and Sheldon Lin founded CreOsso as a follow-on to approximately seven years of research on the effects of insulin and insulin mimetics on bone regeneration. The founding partners of CreOsso are Drs. Joseph Benevenia, Sheldon Lin and Michael Vives, all of the department of Orthopedic Surgery at Rutgers University (formerly UMDNJ). The founders have worked for more than 10 years investigating the potential impact of insulin and insulin mimetics on accelerating bone healing. As a result of this work, the university filed a series of actions with the US patent office and filed with international markets under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).
